What does the reporting cycle timeline look like?

Welcome to the 2025 Reporting Cycle!

There are typically four key phases in the reporting cycle:

  1. Account Set-Up: Starting 1st of December 2025
  2. Data Collection: Typically from January until April 2026
  3. Quality Assurance: Typically in May 2026
  4. Export / Performance Analysis / Benchmarking: Typically May / June 2026

Phase 1: Account Set-Up

  • The first step is to provide information on your organization and fund structure, reporting requirements, and user contact details. This information is necessary to configure your accounts ahead of the second phase - data collection.
  • This year, preparation for account set-ups will begin on the 1st of December and will take place through a new feature directly inside your Atlas account, making the process more streamlined and user-friendly.
  • On the 1st of December, you will receive an email from Atlas with instructions on how to begin. Please follow the steps provided and complete the account set-up flow. You will not be able to start reporting until this step is completed.
  • Please note:
    • If you are already working with an Atlas team member on your 2024 reporting, please continue coordinating with them directly.
  • Atlas recommendations:
    • Ahead of onboarding, align internally to determine who is best placed to complete information on your organisation and fund structure, reporting requirements, and user contact details.
    • Complete your onboarding set-up by the 31st December 2025.

Phase 2: Data collection

  • Once you have submitted your account set-up information, you will receive an email confirming that your account is ready. Any new users for this reporting cycle will receive their platform activation emails on 21st January. You may begin data collection once these have been issued.
  • Atlas recommendations:
    • We recommend that you schedule a kick-off call or send out a kick-off email on 21st January to inform your portfolio companies about the reporting process, communicate key dates, and encourage timely data submission.
    • Stay engaged with portfolio companies throughout the data collection window, and keep time aside to complete your GP- and fund-level metrics.

Phase 3: QA Phase

  • Individuals submitting data to the platform are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data provided.
  • Atlas recommendations:
    • Conducting quality assurance checks (QA) alongside your data collection process. Focus on:
      • Checking for anomalies or outliers before finalizing portfolio results.
      • Clarifying unexpected deviations with companies.

Phase 4: Export / Performance Analysis / Benchmarking

  • After the data collection, you have multiple options to use your data. You can export your data in multiple formats, such as in Excel or in the Invest Europe template (if applicable). Beyond reporting you can increase the value of your data through performance analytics, CCF benchmarking, and risk analysis.
