How can I report to the European Investment Fund?

How does the European Investment Fund request data?

For the 2024 reporting cycle, most European investors have agreed to align around a common data structure and a standardized set of requested information for ESG and portfolio reporting. Invest Europe, in collaboration with many partners, has developed a new standardized Excel template (The template can be found here). The European Investment Fund has adopted this template for their reporting needs. This means you can use the Invest Europe Template to report your data directly to the European Investment Fund.

More about the Invest Europe export can be found in our FAQ

How can I export the template?

You can find the export directly in your account:

  1. Go to the Disclosure tab.

Reporting details to consider for the European Investment Fund

While the EIF uses the Invest Europe Template as a basis, there are a few important differences you need to be aware of:

  1. Additional Fund Indicator in Portfolio Sheet:
In the aggregated portfolio sheet, an extra row is added to show which fund each portfolio company belongs to.
➔ Adding this row after export, can help clarify your data structure.

  2. Separate Files for Submission:
EIF requests the data in two separate Excel files:
➔ One file containing only GP-level data.
➔ One file containing Fund-level and Portfolio-level data.

  3. Alignment of Fund and Portfolio Company Names:
Naming of funds and portfolio companies is crucial for EIF reporting.
➔ Before sharing the Excel files with EIF, make sure the names are fully aligned with the names used in EIF’s system.

Reminder: Please make sure to review the specific reporting requirements communicated to you by the European Investment Fund before sharing your export.
