Why is my aggregated result showing “Cannot calculate”?

The system may display "Cannot calculate" as the aggregated result in certain scenarios, depending on the type of disclosure and the data submitted. Here are the common reasons and explanations.

For Local Disclosures

Local disclosures are those that do not require data from your portfolio companies. They refer to data needed to be completed at fund and/or GP level.

• The aggregated result will display "Cannot calculate" when the system encounters a division by zero. This occurs because, mathematically, divisions by zero returns an undefined value.

For Network Disclosures

Network disclosures are those that require data from your portfolio companies.

• The aggregated result will display "Cannot calculate" in case none of the data submitted by portfolio companies results in a valid calculation. (For additional details about the “division by 0” concept, see section below).
• Common causes include:
  • Insufficient data provided
  • Omission of critical data points needed by the formula
  • Division by zero for the entire submitted dataset (For additional details about the “division by 0” concept, see section below).
• If valid data is provided and a calculable result is obtained for at least one portfolio company, the aggregated result will update to a valid numerical value.

Division by 0

The platform does not compute a value when a division by zero occurs, as such operations are mathematically undefined. Portfolio companies with data leading to a division by zero will be excluded from the overall result aggregation

Example

A portfolio company may report €0 in gross revenue while providing data for GHG emissions. In such cases, the system cannot calculate the GHG intensity by dividing the company’s emissions by its revenue. As a result, the company will be excluded from any aggregation requiring its GHG intensity, such as the SFDR PAI metric “GHG emissions expressed as a ratio of investee company's revenue”.

As outlined in the table example below, Company C will be excluded from the result aggregation.
