What are the Invest Europe reporting levels / thresholds?

Invest Europe uses a three-tiered reporting framework to determine how many ESG metrics a portfolio company must complete.

Each reporting level is determined solely by the average number of full-time equivalent (FTE) employees during the reporting period. A higher FTE count results in a higher reporting level and a more extensive set of required metrics.

The three reporting levels are:

  1. Minimum <15 FTE:
    • Focuses on fundamental ESG metrics, covering company basics and key environmental and social indicators. Applicable to companies averaging fewer than 15 full-time employees during the reporting period.
  2. Intermediate 15-250 FTE:
    • Builds upon the Minimum level to provide a balanced representation across environmental, social, and governance metrics. Applicable to companies averaging between 15 to 250 full-time employees during the reporting period.
  3. Full >250 FTE:
    • Extends the Minimum and Intermediate levels to include a comprehensive set of ESG metrics, offering a complete view of the organisation’s sustainability performance. Applicable to companies averaging more than 250 full-time employees during the reporting period.

Not every KPI may be equally relevant or material for every portfolio company.

If a metric is not monitored, not relevant, or not applicable, the portfolio company may omit it by selecting the omission option and providing a brief explanation.
