How to complete Scope 2 market-based metric without the energy suppliers emission factor?

If you’re missing your providers emission factor, here’s what to do:

For facilities/offices in the EU:

  • Look up the residual mix emission factor for your country at the provided link: https://shorturl.at/Oq3im
  • Enter this value in the field for “Energy provider emissions factor.” within the metric “Emissions: Electricity consumption (market-based).”

For locations outside the EU or if you cannot find the country in the list above:

  1. Omit the “Energy provider emissions factor” field in the metric titled “Emissions: Electricity consumption (market-based).”
  2. Go to the metric “Total Scope 2 emissions by Scope 2 category,” copy the value from the “Location-Based” field into the “Market-Based” field, and submit. (Note: You’ll see a value in “Location-Based” only if you’ve already completed the “Emissions: Electricity consumption (location-based)” metric.)
