How do I report in accordance with GRI?

  1. Apply the reporting principles: Make sure the report is balanced, complete, accurate, and based on stakeholder needs.
  2. Report GRI general metrics: Collect basic data about your organization and reporting.
  3. Use sector standards to determine material topics: Where available, sector guidance should be used to determine material topics. If no sector guidance is available, an impact materiality analysis should be carried out.
  4. Report material topics: Present the results of materiality analysis.
  5. Report GRI metrics for all material topics: Collect all relevant data on material topics.
  6. Explain any missing metrics: Explain why data could not be provided.
  7. Publish a GRI content index: Use the GRI template showing which GRI metrics are covered and where to find them in the final sustainability report.
  8. Notify GRI: Let GRI know about the published report.
