How do I set up 2FA for the first time?
Once our Support team has confirmed that 2FA has been activated for your platform account, please follow the below-outlined steps for the completion of the setup:
1. The next time you log in to your account, you will see a QR code being shown after entering your email and your password.
On that page you then need to take your mobile device and either open Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator or, in case you have not yet downloaded those applications, you will then have to open the corresponding application stores and download either one of the two applications onto your mobile device.
Google Authenticator App and Microsoft Authenticator App as shown in your App Store:
2. Once you have downloaded Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, you can open those applications and follow the instructions to add a new account. There are two methods to add a new account: either by scanning the QR code with that application or by entering an alphanumeric code (see screenshot from Step 1) that is usually displayed underneath the QR code.
3. After scanning the QR code, you will see a six-digit code being shown inside your authenticator application. Should you also have other accounts in your Authenticator App, you just need to look for the one called “Atlas Metrics”. The six-digit code is only valid for a short period, and when the code is about to expire, the colour of the code usually turns red and/or starts to blink. There is also a watch symbol next to them, highlighting when the code is about to expire. As soon as the code has expired, a new code becomes visible.
4. After correctly entering your verification code, you are successfully authenticated and logged into your account.
Congratulations, you have now added an additional safety layer to your account.
As long as your session remains active, you will not have to enter a new verification code. Please note, the sessions expire after 48 hours, meaning if you have not been active on the platform, you will have to enter a new verification code.
